The 2009 biennial conference of the Specialist Group in Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Petrology will be held at Acacia Hotel, Kangaroo Island, South Australia.

dates
November 8th to 13th, 2009. Registration and abstract submission deadline is 31 August 2009.

conference format
This *Gordon style* conference will address three main themes in consecutive sessions:

  • New evidence and methods to illuminate the Earths secular evolution;
  • Unique Australia, how and why?;
  • Cutting edge techniques: description and application.

    Each theme will involve 20 minute talks from a small number of invited speakers plus ample time for discussion. Afternoon poster sessions will be associated with short introductory presentations by the other attendees. Field excursions will be integrated into the programme and will examine the stunning migmatites and other records of the Delamerian Orogeny of South Australia and will involve winery visits.
