Sunday 8th November
16:30 Registration and Icebreaker: Mawson Building University of Adelaide and adjacent University Oval.
Monday 9th November
08:30 Depart University of Adelaide by buses to Cape Jervis to connect with Kangaroo Island Ferry.
Geological stops:
  • Carrickalinga: Normanville and Kanmantoo Groups: Lower Cambrian sedimentary basin development, precursors to the Mid to Late Cambrian Delamerian;
  • Lunch at Normanville Hotel;
  • Wirrina Cove: High strain rocks (Delamerian orogeny) in the Neoproterozoic (Adelaidean) Sturtian sequence in the foot wall of a major west vergent thrust fault bringing Palaeoproterozoic basement (Gawler Craton)over the Adelaidean;
  • Rapid Bay: Major westward (craton)  vergent thrusting.
  • 16:30 Ferry Departure from Cape Jervis, arriving Penneshaw in eastern Kangaroo Island.
    ~18:00 Dinner at Penneshaw Pub.
    19:30 Drive to Kingscote where the conference will be located arriving at ~20:30.
    Tuesday 10th November
      Venue Acacia Lodge Conference Facilities, Kingscote.
    08:25 Conference welcome and themed oral session (includes a tea/coffee break).
    12:00 Lunch
    13:00 Conference themed oral session.
    15:00 Poster Presentations (until 18:30).
    18:30 AuScope meeting.
    Wednesday 11th November
    08:30 Conference themed oral session (includes a tea/coffee break).
    12:00 Lunch
    12:30 Field excursion to north coast of Kangaroo Island:
  • Kangaroo Island group;
  • Kangaroo Island Shear Zone;
  • Harvey’s Return.
  • 17:30 BBQ Dinner at Snellings Beach.
    21:30 Back at Kingscote.
    Thursday 12th November
    08:30 Conference themed oral session (includes a tea/coffee break).
    12:00 Lunch
    12:30 Field excursion to south coast of Kangaroo Island:
  • Late Cambrian (Delamerian) Migmatite Complexes at Stun;
  • Sail Boom River and 6 Mile Lagoon;
  • Remarkable Rocks Late Cambrian granite outcrops.
  • 19:00 Conference Dinner Acacia lodge (until late).
    Friday 13th November
    09:00 AuScope wrap up meeting.
    09:30 Depart Kingscote.
    10:00 Arrive Cape Hart on SE coast: Composite S-type granite-mafic dykes.
    12:00 Cape Dutton Farm / winery. Wine tasting and lunch.
    14:30 Return to Penneshaw.
    15:00 Ferry return to Cape Jervis (arrive 4pm).
    16:00

    Bus return to Adelaide  (arrive Adelaide at 6pm).
